Definition: Backcasting

Backcasting. Verb.

Definition: To predict the future based on the recent past.

Sample usage: Wake up in the morning, put on shorts and a t-shirt, do so because today is going to be very hot. And how do you know this? Because yesterday was very hot. That's backcasting.
