Gift From Google: Text Format Based Sitemaps

I like to get my client's sites off on the right foot, and provide them with Google Analytics and Google Webmasters support. They way, they can get an idea of who's visiting their site and how the Google is treating them.

Furthermore, I like to generate at least an initial Google Sitemap to give Google something to chew on. Creating the sitemap file isn't particularly hard, but it does require me to look up the protocol every time.

But, they've made my life easier. Apparently, you can now submit a simple text format sitemap now. It's as easy as putting a URL on each line of the file.

Nice and simple. Even I can remember that.

Now, if I had a way to convince the Googlebot to come on my command, now that would be slick.
