Allow me to put my marriage counselor / national psychologist hat on for a second...
So the Obama date night is raising some crticism. And while some of it may be deserved, I keep having this thought: I really like that he took his wife out on date night.
There's so much talk in Washington about family values, sanctity of marriage, who's having an affair with who, blah, blah, blah. To me, this kind of public act of showing a strong marital relationship, represents an excellent example and sends a powerful message.
I'd like to believe that I'd be impressed with this stunt regardless of the party in power. I'm pro showing your wife a good time.
Oh, and for the record, Bush made 77 trips, at a cost $226,072 each. So, what are the Obama's going to do for the next 76 date nights?
