Nats vs. Cards and My New Favorite Term

I know I'm a few days late on this. But we had such a blast at the Nationals vs. Cardinals Game that it deserves a blog post. While Shira, Spencer and I were rooting for the Nats, Forrest was offsetting us all by being a Cardinals Super Fan. He, and most of the section we were in, were absolutely pulling for them. Alas, fandom wasn't enough to give them the win. The Nats played well that day, and Werth hit a Grand Slam in the 7th inning that pushed the team over the top.

Sorry Forrest; better luck next time.

While watching the Nats play and all was fun (and the Kosher Italian Sausage wasn't bad either!), the real highlight was watching our friend Caleb do his thing on the grounds crew. Did you know that the dirt that covers the infield isn't dirt? It's Turface, a term I absolutely need to fold into my daily vocabulary. As the game finished up the light rain turned to a downpour. The players and fans were spared, the grounds crew, not so much. Oh well, it's all in a day's work, right?
