A Little Arlington Hiking Fun

When Shira mentioned that we had a hiking date scheduled with our friend Sue and her 3 and 6 year old, I knew immediately where we should go: Potomac Overlook Park. We did the 2+ mile loop I did earlier in the summer. It includes scenic hiking, geocaching, stream hopping, rock throwing (truth: kids universally love throwing rocks into water) and a circuit that a 6 year old can handle.

Everyone, including the 3 year old, did great. I was disappointed that one of the geocaches is now defunct, but there was still one to find.

Everybody had fun, and perhaps best of all, we skipped the long car ride two and from the trail head. We never left Arlington!
