It turns out it's not just The Gimp that works well with my new Wacom Tablet. Google docs has recently added drawing capability to their office-suite. This means spreadsheets, documents and presentations can all have drawings in them.
Like most features of Google Docs, the drawing is pretty basic stuff. But, it works as expected with the tablet and should be a useful feature for annotating documents. Check out the sample below:
