Today I promised Shira shopping and casino time. Instead, we ended up doing yet another 3 mile hike - this one through Palm Canyon. What can I say, this place is too beautiful to spend time inside shopping.
Palm Canyon is an oasis like we saw in Joshua Tree, but is significantly larger. The trail was especially nice because you get a cool walk through the oasis, and then you get to walk on the ridge above it to appreciate the surrounding desert.
We did hit a casino on the way out of town, which doesn't quite make up for the lack of shopping or extended casino time, but was a start.
It's hard to believe this trip is coming to a close. That means focusing on cleaning out my inbox and getting back to reality. Now there's a scary thought.
For now though, I'm going to sit back and watch the California mountains roll by as we make our way to the airport.
