Rock Creek Park - Exploring The Big Green Splotch of DC

If you check out a DC map, you'll see a big 'ol patch of green in the northern part of the city, which is Rock Creek Park. It's hard for me to believe, but in all our hiking and such, we've never really explored it. Today, with my parents, I fixed that.

We did the 3 mile Boulder Bridge Hike, which proved most enjoyable. It was just the right mix of hills and wooded terrain to give you the sense that you were in the wilderness, but really, you hadn't ever left the city.

Definitely worth checking out.

After our hike, we caught lunch, and then took a fairly relaxing 45 minute boat cruise along the Potomac. It was a fun perspective to see the city from, and just the right kind of shaded relaxation to enjoy after the hike in the morning.

Oh, and while leaving Georgetown, we found the National Pinball Museum. Got to love this city and its fascination with museums.
