The Funny Thing About Virginia Electorial Politics

Look at this election map of the Governor's race in Virginia:

Pretty obvious what happened, right? The Red candidate smoked the Blue candidate, winning by a ridiculous margin.

Except that's not what happened all. The Blue candidate won by 55,420'ish votes (99.92% of precincts have reported in).

I almost feel bad for all those folks who live in Red counties and have to wake up to this map. But then again, I live in a a county that lean's so far to the left that they contributed 71% of their vote to the Blue guy. So around here, the election results seem right on track.
