What I Want From A President

Poor Mitt, he just can't keep his foot out of his mouth. His latest oops: saying that he's not concerned about the very poor. There's plenty being written and debated on this, so I'm not going to weigh in.

But...the whole thing got me thinking. One of my favorite bits of video on whitehouse.gov is this press conference where Obama talks about Fair Pay for In-Home Care Workers:

(More info about the initiative is here.)

There's just something remarkable and humbling about the most powerful man in the world standing up for an overlooked and under appreciated group of Americans. One that he could ignore, and the rest of the country wouldn't be the wiser.

In the end, it's probably just silly to talk about who you're going to help and not going to help. Do good work, and the rest will take care of itself.
