Battery Woes Solution #1 and a 1/2

After my rant last night about the poor battery life of my phone, a
partial "solution" came to mind.

Why don't I take an cell phone I have lying around stash it in my desk
or car? Then, when my Sidekick dies, I will simply grab the sim card
from it, and stick it in my backup phone. I should then be temporarily
back in business.

I'll be able to make calls and write short blog posts. Naturally,
these posts will almostly exclusively be about my sidekick's battery
life and the frustration it causes me.

At least I won't have that sense of dread that comes from being
disconnected. Of course, I'll also lose that odd calm and serentity
that comes from being disconnected. Oh well.

As for the 1/2 a solution to my battery life problem - I dimmed my
screen display.

It's 4pm and I'm at 3 bars - not great but better than yesterday.

I called T-mobile and spoke to a fellow in their Sidekick group. He
couldn't have been nicer. However, at the end of the conversation, all
he could do was sell me a $50.00 battery. I'm going to try to pick one
up cheaper on eBay (no doubt $1.00 for the battery, $49.99 for
shipping).

Mobile devices: the cause of, and the solution to, all of lifes
problems.
